Traces of nature.
Indications of the ephemeral world that surrounds us; constantly evolving, emerging and dissipating
I have been a gardener as long as I can remember. Nurturing growth, watching the fullness, maturation and the cycle of return to earth. These images have been created using material from my gardens in Florida and Canada - two distinctly different climates and geographies.
The images are created using historic processes such as cyanotype that employs light-sensitive iron salts. These salts respond to ultraviolet light, and when exposed to sunlight, produce an image based on the objects placed on the substrate.
